03 May Turquoise and Blush Memphis Brooks Museum Wedding

They don’t do serious. They don’t do sadness or tears (except happy ones!). They don’t do drama, or too much, or too little. They never stop talking. They never stop laughing. And these are only a FEW of the reasons we love Erin and Donny so much! Their officiant described them best during their wedding ceremony when he said, “Not only do Erin and Donny LOVE each other, but they sure do LIKE each other a lot! And they like doing life together.” Yes. That.

I will be honest when I say that I was a little worried when I woke that morning to stormy skies and pouring rain. The forecast was calling for thunderstorms all day and into the night. But the show must go on, rain or shine. An hour later the rain had stopped, and we made our way to the hotel where Erin and Donny were preparing for the day. The skies gradually cleared, and not one more single drop of rain fell that day. By the time we arrived at the wedding venue, the weather was looking much clearer. Then the bride arrived shortly behind us, and when she stepped foot onto the property, the SUN CAME OUT. Memphis only needed Erin’s shining face to chase away the rain!

Ed and I had been looking forward to this wedding for what seems like a very long time. We knew it would be great, but we were unprepared for the amount of greatness that it turned out to be! At the end of the night, Ed could only describe it with one word: EPIC. And epic it was! Not because the flowers were stunning (they were). Not because the dress was romantic (it was). And not because we were surrounded by my favorite color all day (though that helped!). But because of Erin and Donny. Them. They are epic, and they are surrounded by epic people. Epic people who all love epically.

It was a dream.

An epic dream.

Erin and Donny are honeymooning with Disney as we speak! First, two days in DisneyWorld, then on to a Disney cruise. We couldn’t pass up this nod to Mickey and Minnie!

Best. Cufflinks. Ever. If you know why, we are best friends.

Erin and Donny chose to see each other before the ceremony, and their First Look was showered in unexpected sun rays! They were so happy (and relieved!) to finally be with each other on this day!

Seriously, that sun! There was an 80% chance of thunderstorms all day! But not for us 🙂

I love this photo, because it’s so them! Erin and Donny laugh ALL the time! It’s such a joy to be around them!

There’s nothing I love more than a party of groomsmen with crazy socks! So much fun!

The Brooks Museum courtyard looked gorgeous. We were so relieved we didn’t need a tent!

I love the moment when a groom gets his first glimpse of his bride coming down the isle! Erin and Donny entered the ceremony to classy, violin-played epic soundtracks – Star Wars’ Force Theme for Donny, Jurassic Park’s theme for the bridal party, and Beauty and the Beast for Erin!

This is just ONE of the many reasons that I am so in love with my husband. Erin broke down right before the ceremony, and since there are two of us, he was there to capture it. I never would have seen this moment if it weren’t for him!

She pulled it together just in time!

Married!

We snuck away for just a few minutes right after the ceremony for some sunset portraits. Erin and Donny are SO easy to photograph! I could have kept going!

The reception looked amazing! A huge shoutout to the Garden District who got the backdrop behind the sweetheart table up in record time! They were such pros!

The whole day was like this – full of fun, grins, and laughter!

Erin and Donny, we can’t thank you enough for allowing us to be part of your day! Everything was beautiful, and your family and friends made us feel like one of their own. I know you’re having a blast right now at Disney, and I can’t wait to come visit when it’s our turn in July! You haven’t seen the last of us 😉 We love you to the moon and back!
