24 Apr Michelle + Joe | a Spring Heartwood Hall Wedding
There are some couples that, every once in awhile, come along and make us realize how lucky we are to know them. That make us better. That care more about others than anything else. That, even on their own wedding day, on a day that’s supposed to be all about them, somehow make it about everyone else. Michelle and Joe are that kind of couple.
Michelle and Joe planned a spring Heartwood Hall wedding with simplicity in mind. They wanted a beautiful day to celebrate love, and they wanted to share it with family. Nothing else mattered. They included everyone who played a part in the lives, and even those who were not related by blood felt as though they were.
Their gorgeous spring wedding was highlighted with soft blush colors and a touch of lavender and rose gold. Simple sprays of baby’s breath were all that were needed to compliment the spring dogwoods and azaleas outside. Hand-lettered signs and chalkboards spelled out the events of the day, and rustic burlap contrasted with delicate lace. Michelle and Joe’s five nephews were certainly an integral part of the day, but nothing compared to Michelle in her wedding gown! She was the true meaning of sophistication and grace.
Michelle and Joe included several little personal touches to their day, including these engraved corks that they gave to guests:
Michelle had a stunning Liancarlo gown that could not have been any more perfect for her!
Starting the day right in matching robes!
Michelle, you were a stunning bride!
Joe surprised Michelle with a letter before the ceremony, but she was unable to read through the whole thing!
The ladies looked absolutely stunning in their mismatched, blush dresses! I loved the baby’s breath bouquets, and the sprigs of lavender in the bridal bouquet!
The gentlemen all looked very dapper in their grey suits and lavender ties.
Michelle had a very special First Look with her dad, and it was such a sweet, tender moment! I have a soft spot for brides and their dads!
The garden at Heartwood Hall is my absolute favorite place for a wedding ceremony! All that was needed was a little more baby’s breath!
I love this sweet moment between Michelle and her dad right before walking down the isle.
Did I mention how cute all the nephews were???
Michelle’s sister sang during the procession, and she almost made it to the end before choking up! She had a beautiful voice, and it was such a sweet touch.
Married!
One of my favorite photos from the whole day! These guys stole my heart!
The wedding party all looked amazing, but Michelle only had eyes for her new husband!
After the ceremony, we roamed the grounds so that Michelle and Joe could soak up the happiness of finally being married! Oh, and we took some beautiful portraits too! An hour or so before sunset is always my favorite time to shoot!
Michelle’s maiden name is Heck. Love that pun!
My favorite photo of the two of them. Look how happy they are!
Seriously, Michelle! You are too gorgeous for words! Wait until you guys see her bridal session!
The barn was all decked out for the celebration!
The First Dance…
We stepped away from the party later in the evening for a few night shots. If you look closely, you can see just a few raindrops from the drizzle that had started!
Michelle and Joe, we have no words. Ed said at the end of the night that he had never felt more like family at a wedding. I completely agree! Not only was everything completely beautiful, but the whole day felt amazing! We are just so honored to have been a part of your day, and extremely grateful that we got the chance to know the both of you! I know you are having a blast in St. Lucia, and we can’t wait to see you when you get back!
A super special thank you to everyone who came together for this amazing day:
