22 Sep Rustic and Elegant Mallard’s Croft Wedding
I knew I loved Tiffany right away when she was not afraid to hug me when we met. I’m a hugger, so for me, that was a great sign! But what I didn’t know at the time was how much I would fall in love with both her and Cody’s whole families. Ed and I are big on family (four kids. duh.), so when we saw how close these two are with their families, that sealed the deal. By the end of the day, we considered ourselves honorary family members, and you can never have too much family!
At the rehearsal dinner, we were invited to sit and dine with the family, at their table. They were paying us to be there, but they treated us as if we were trusted friends. And as I sat and listened to the bride’s dad talk about the importance of family, I knew I was with my kind of people. We have rarely seen a dad who loves his daughter so much! Tiffany is so obviously his pride and joy, and there were bittersweet tears all night, both happy for her marriage, and sad to be letting her go.
Then, at the end of the wedding night, when things started to wind down, Tiffany’s mom came over and hugged me hard. The good kind of hug, where you don’t want to let go. We told her what a beautiful day it had been, and how grateful we were to have been a part of it. And she looked over at her husband with shining eyes and said, “we only ever wanted for her what her dad and I have with each other.” We smiled and nodded at each other, because we knew, like everyone there, that she had found exactly that.
When Tiffany put on her dress and became a bride, her mom had to look away to keep from crying. Such a sweet moment!
Tiffany couldn’t hold her tears in when her dad saw her for the first time. They stood on the private porch, crying, and holding each other tight. It’s so obvious how much he adores her!
Meanwhile, Cody was getting ready to see Tiffany for the first time, and as he dressed, his mom told us that she and his dad didn’t know that he had chosen his own brother for his Best Man. He had saved it as a surprise for them!
Tiffany and Cody chose to see each other before the ceremony, and their First Look was full of more tears of joy! No one can make Tiffany smile like Cody can.
These girls were FABULOUS! A huge shout out to Amy, who stuck out the heat with us all day to make sure Tiffany had everything she needed.
These flowers were GORGEOUS!
The barn looked amazing all dressed up for the reception! I am LOVING all these Fall colors!
I love this photo so much! When Ed and I got married, Morgan, who was about 2 years old, ran up to us during our First Dance, wanting to join in. When Carson did the same thing, it reminded me of our own wedding!
Tiffany’s dad clung to her one last time during their father-daughter dance.
And then the party began, and lasted all night!
Tiffany and Cody, we can’t express how lucky we feel to have shared in your day. Everything was beautiful, but the love you have for each other and your families makes us so proud to be a part of something so wonderful. Thank you for including us! We can’t wait to hear all about the honeymoon! Cheers!
