09 Dec a Memphis Winter Pink Palace Wedding | Kate + Sean
I’m so excited to share this winter Pink Palace wedding today! I absolutely adore holiday weddings, and Kate and Sean’s entire day was so beautiful, from beginning to end. The weather was amazing and unseasonably warm. The colors were perfect – gold with a splash of red and pink. They were the perfect holiday colors without being too Christmas. And the flowers… oh, these flowers! I probably posted way too many photos of the flowers, but they were too gorgeous not to! Keep reading to see all the beautiful goodness, and you won’t want to miss the groom’s peanut butter and jelly cake!
Kate and Sean have such a special, giving relationship. They are friends with and part of the same church as Amy + Sam, so we knew right away that they would be awesome! They are perfect for each other – a wonderful mix of humility, humor, and fun!
We are so lucky as photographers that we get to see every part of a wedding day. One of my favorite moments of Kate’s day was right before the ceremony. All her girls and both moms circled around her, held hands, and prayed with tears and joy. Each of them spoke about how wonderful Kate is and how thankful they are to have her as a friend. They prayed that the guests would be reminded that this day was about marriage, and they prayed that Kate and Sean would only grow in their love for each other. Lastly, they prayed that the reception would be a rockin’ party and that everyone would have a great time. I am happy to say that all their prayers were granted!
Kate gifted Sean with some very special personal journals.
The winter light on this December day could not have been more beautiful as Kate dressed with her mom and maids of honor.
Kate and Sean chose to see each other before the ceremony, and I’m so glad that they did! Not only was Sean’s reaction to his bride priceless, but it allowed us to take all of their portraits during the day in the amazing winter light! Their ceremony was after dark, so there would have been no other way to get these beautiful portraits.
Kate, you made a stunning bride!
I was thrilled to find this jewel of an image on Ed’s camera.
After we finished up portraits of the bride and groom, Kate had a First Look with her bridesmaids. I love this shot as they see her for the first time!
Seriously, though. Those flowers!
Gotta have a break for a wedding day selfie!
Kate and Sean have some amazingly good-looking friends. All the guys were dapper…
And all the gals were gorgeous!
We had to get one more in front of the mansion, right at sunset.
I loved this prayer moment so much!
The Pink Palace looked amazing, all dressed up for a winter reception.
Some of the prettiest arrangements I’ve ever seen. Kevin Griffin truly outdid himself!
Sean and his brothers were practically raised on peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. It’s a favorite of his to this day! So much so that he perfected the recipe for this pb&j cake himself! Krystle Wolfe did an amazing job turning it into a masterpiece. And just like their engagement shoot, Kate and Sean served doughnuts and milk at the end of the night.
Kate and Sean don’t do anything half way. They had an entirely choreographed and polished First Dance!
The party literally went all night long. I’ve never seen so many guests left (and on the dance floor!) at the end of the night! So many people were present and delighted to celebrate with the happy couple!
Kate and Sean, words cannot explain how honored we are to have celebrated this day with you! Nothing makes us happier than a couple who focuses more on marriage than the wedding. I know you have to wait on the honeymoon due to Sean’s residency schedule, but I know you’re enjoying your first week of marriage already!
