Memphis Cadre Wedding

kristin + ken: a downtown memphis cadre wedding

Kristin and Ken were hoping that the rain would wait until after their downtown Memphis Cadre wedding. They certainly got their wish, because instead, they got a bright sunny day for their ceremony and most of their reception. The rain poured down for about 20 minutes toward the end of the party, but had stopped by the time Kristin and Ken left by horse-drawn carriage.

The weather wasn’t the only perfect thing about the day. Kristin was surrounded by loving friends and family while she prepared at the Peabody Hotel. Though she was a bit anxious, all her ladies in waiting tended to her every need. When it was time, they delivered her safely to her groom for their First Look. Ken waited patiently to see his bride, and as she descended the steps to him, they were both overcome by emotion and joy. Their day had finally come, and they would soon be man and wife!

There’s just something special about a downtown Memphis wedding! The energy of the city lends extra excitement, there are lots of wonderful places for photos, and it’s full of old buildings with history. The Cadre looked beautiful in shades of purple and gold, and it was the perfect place for Kristin and Ken to celebrate the night away!

Kristin and Ken, we loved spending the day with you! You are both so full of emotion and the love you have for each other is palpable. Thank you so much for letting us be a part of your special day. We are truly honored!

Ken sent a gift over to Kristin while she got ready at the Peabody Hotel. It was the perfect accessory!

Those eyes! Kristin, you made a gorgeous bride!

Kristin and Ken chose to see each other before the ceremony, and it was such a joyous occasion! Kristin couldn’t hold back her tears of joy as she walked toward her groom. It was so sweet!

We then had some time to walk around downtown for some portraits. It’s so much fun strolling down Main Street with a bride and groom! Everyone honks and yells their congratulations.

It was a little hot and humid outside, so we headed back to the Cadre for a few more photos inside.

I love this photo of Ken and his guys!

The ceremony was laid out so that there wasn’t a bad angle anywhere. I love this shot that Ed got of Kristin coming down the isle!

Ken couldn’t hold back as he saw Kristin walking toward him. Even though he had already seen her during the First Look, he was overcome with emotion when the time came to get married. See guys, a First Look doesn’t ruin this moment at all!

The Cadre looked AMAZING for the reception! Olivia and the staff at Studio 1524 completely transformed it.

The first dance was also emotional as Kristin and Ken swayed to John Legend’s “All of Me.”

The dance floor was packed all night.

The rain had come and gone by the time Kristin and Ken were ready to hop into their carriage for their getaway.

Photos were super important to Kristin and Ken, and I loved that we were able to schedule a little time after the reception to get some night shots on Beale Street! The street was packed since there were still Memphis in May festivities. Special thanks to the police who let us skip the ID-check line in order to get these photos. I love how they turned out!

Kristin and Ken, we can’t thank you enough for the trust you placed in us! It was a pleasure to capture your wedding day, and you guys rocked it out, even when you were tired at the end of the night. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day!

Here’s to downtown energy. And planning for photos. And rain that waits. Cheers!

A special thanks to everyone who made this day so awesome:
