12 Nov Anne + Alex: Joined | A Memphis Brooks Museum Wedding
There’s one every year. One wedding where the weather is PERFECT. The sun is out, there’s not a cloud in the sky, and the temperature is a few degrees warmer than chilly. Anne and Alex got lucky and picked that perfect day this year for their Memphis Brooks Museum wedding. We could not have mail ordered a more gorgeous day! But what truly made the day beautiful were the bride and groom themselves. Anne and Alex share such a special love, and we were honored to spend the day with them!
Anne was truly a light on her wedding day! She and Alex are both quiet, reserved, private people. But on her wedding day, Anne was simply bubbly. There’s just not another word for her joy and excitement! She smiled and giggled all day long, and her laugh is so infectious that everyone around her was beaming right along with her. She knew she was marrying her true love, and she was completely excited by it!
Alex, ever quiet and unruffled, was a very calm groom. He took the day in stride, never nervous, only ready to become a husband. From the day that he presented his grandmother’s antique ring to Anne, he knew that a life with her was all he wanted. His best man and fellow Harvard alumnus said it best when he toasted Alex later in the evening, “Alex is always a step ahead of everyone else, so we knew he was making the right decision.” There was no one else for him but Anne.
It was so hard to choose favorites from their wedding day! I have posted entirely too many, but Ed always tells me the more, the better. I hope he’s right, as I couldn’t leave out a single one. Anne and Alex’s day was just too beautiful not to share!
Anne’s Rivini gown was so perfect for her!
They had the most awesome gift baskets, with wine and a little taste of Memphis, for their out of town guests!
Anne made such a classic bride!
We spent a little time with Alex too, capturing his details and wedding day preparation.
Anne and Alex chose to see each other before the ceremony, and I’m so glad that they did! Their First Look was full of excitement, laughter, and tenderness, and I absolutely LOVE this intimate time that a bride and groom get to share together.
Anne was overjoyed to get a look at her groom! Her excitement was so cute!
Because they decided on a First Look, we had plenty of time for portraits. Anne and Alex set aside enough time for us to be creative and wander around the Brooks Museum property, and I love them for it!
An intimate moment captured by Ed. I love it!
Anne, seriously. You make such a STUNNING bride!!
Anne and Alex chose black and white for their wedding colors, and I think this bouquet could not have been more perfect! I was obsessed with it!
Oh! The! Light!
Okay, I have to give a shout out to the bridal party. They were all beyond AWESOME! I fell in love with each and every one of these girls, and the guys were so much fun! Anne and Alex seriously have some fabulous (and such good-looking!) friends!
We were having a blast!
No one does the serious look better than a bunch of Harvard guys!
Anne and Alex were always willing to pose for a few more.
This shot is one of my favorites from the whole day! Ed was able to capture the handshake that Alex’s dad gave him as the family was assembling for photos. Love it!
The Holly Court was decorated simply, but beautifully, with fall branches and candles. I loved the black chairs (I have a thing about chairs)!
Ed to the rescue again, with this fantastic shot of Alex’s mom getting a little emotional before walking down the isle!
He also captured this last glance Anne’s dad gave her before he lead her to her soon-to-be husband.
Anne, however, was positively giddy! No tears at this wedding! She was over-the-moon excited.
We ran off for a few minutes for just a few more portraits in the golden sunset.
The reception centerpieces were a perfect reflection of Anne and Alex’s simple, classic style.
They shared a sweet First Dance.
The party went all night, and everyone had a blast! Even at the end of the night, Anne was still beaming!
Anne and Alex, we were thrilled to capture your day! I know I’ve already said this a dozen times, but it was absolutely PERFECT! Thank you so much for allowing us to be a part of it. We have so enjoyed getting to know you and your awesome friends and family!
A special thank you to everyone who made this day so incredible:
