19 Feb lora + richard: joined. a memphis hillwood wedding.
Lora and Richard are the kind of people who simply make life better. They are the kind of people that after meeting them and spending only a few minutes with them, you realize what a privilege it is just to know them. She is quiet, and tender hearted, but will surprise you with sudden wit and laughter. Her soft beauty and honesty are a perfect match to Richard’s humor and determination. They take care of each other. They laugh with each other. They are meant for each other.
Lora and Richard were married on a beautiful December day, with the sun shining bright and the temperature a perfect crispness. They spent the day laughing, crying tears of joy, and celebrating their love. Their vows told the story of their trials and their triumphs, their promises and devotion. On this day, Lora and Richard were bound by unending love. On this day, life was simply better.
Lora and Richard spent the day at Davies Plantation, the perfect location for their rustic Christmas wedding.
Lora made such a beautiful bride!
And Richard sure does clean up good 😉
Lora and Richard chose to see each other before the ceremony, and their First Look was very emotional. One of my favorites!
Such a tender moment.
We then roamed the plantation grounds a bit for portraits. This is my favorite from the day!
Lora, Lora, Lora! You stun me. Every detail was beautiful.
The wheelchair is a part of their life, so while Lora and Richard did want to minimize it, I made sure to include it in a few photos. I love this one of them just being them!
The girls were all gorgeous in shades of black and pewter.
Richard gave each of his guys a pocket watch, and they all looked quite dapper!
Lora’s mom is a florist for Holliday Flowers, so we knew the decor was going to be amazing. But we were blown away all the same! Everything was gorgeous and sophisticated, with just a hint of Christmas (Lora’s favorite time of year).
The ceremony was very emotional, especially when Richard recited his vows without pen and paper. He simply looked at his bride, and spoke his heart.
Married!
Right after the ceremony, we rushed outside for a few photos in the setting sun.
Pure happiness!
The reception was as beautifully decorated as the ceremony! Lora’s mom worked closely with Club Windward to make sure everything was perfect. There were so many details to photograph. I was in heaven!
Lora and Richard spent the evening celebrating with friends and family. The toasts were equal part hilarity and sentiment. My favorite kind!
At the end of the night, they left amid cheers and tears. Together.
Lora and Richard, I can’t say this enough: thank you for the privilege of knowing you! We feel blessed to have witnessed your love and your story. We are so honored to have captured it! Thank you for making life better.
