We've been back home in Memphis for nearly a week now, and I'm sorting through the last of my vacation photos. Our trip to the Florida beaches (Ft. Walton for a week, then on to Mexico Beach for another week) this year turned out to be the perfect vacation! We've never done a two-weeks-at-a-time vacation, but I don't know that I can do them any other way now!
You can't go to LA without paying a visit to Disneyland California! So we were thrilled when our Dance Excellence schedule included spending one whole day in the most magical place on Earth. I have been to DisneyWorld in Orlando countless times, so I was eager to see how it compared (spoiler alert: I like Orlando better!).
I almost felt guilty. Almost.
While the girls were attending their morning classes (they had 3 each morning, then 3 more each afternoon), the moms got to go sightseeing. And shopping. Santa Monica was all about shopping!
LA was a lot greener than I thought it would be. I expected concrete. And smog. And while there were plenty of both, there were also trees. The palm trees stuck up everywhere, like little dots against the sky. Flowers grew randomly on the side of the freeways. And yards were covered in vines and bougainvillea.
