She had watched his dog once, before they even met. She was keeping a friend company one evening, while the friend was dog sitting. She got a tour of this then-stranger's apartment. Even saw where he slept. So that later, when they finally bumped into each other, she could say "I've seen your bedroom!," and it wasn't even creepy.

Ed and I have been looking for an excuse to go to Old Dominick Distillery, so we were thrilled when Elizabeth and Sam wanted to do their engagement photos there! I mean, obviously, Ed and I are always on board for anywhere that may have a good cocktail hour, but I was so excited to find that their rooftop is filled with succulents!! If you follow me on Instagram, you may already know that I am obsessed with succulents! The whole space is such a cool venue, and we're so glad we got to share our first time there with these two lovebirds!

This chilly downtown Memphis winter engagement may have been the coldest one we did all year! Susan and Brad were are rockstars! Not only did they tolerate the cold temperatures while smiling for the camera, they did it without complaining once! We were able to get the last of the Fall leaves in a few of the photos, then finished up with the holiday lights along Main Street. Ed and I loved every minute we spent with them! These two are the sweetest people, and we already know how lucky we are to have them in our lives.

These two are getting married on Saturday. Like, in two days. Like, in "get your act together and do the blog post already, Amy!" We are SO excited to witness the beginning of their new journey, and if it's anything like their Memphis engagement session, we know the wedding is going to be fabulous!! In the meantime, we are so excited to share their engagement session!

Oh, you guys! I am SO over-the-moon excited to share this session today! I can't tell you how long I've been wanting to photograph a couple in a canoe. In formal clothes. In the lake. At sunset! It takes a special, adventurous couple to give us the trust and freedom for this type of shoot, and we found it in Val and Reed! They were not afraid of getting a little wet, and just WAIT until you see them standing up in the canoe! This one was one of our favorites for so many reasons!

We had such a great time during this colorful engagement session! Fall is never a disappointing time to shoot, and the red, orange, and yellow leaves added even more color to these images. When we accidentally found a purple door that perfectly matched Liz's lavender shirt, it was the icing on the cake! We got to know these two quite well as we explored midtown together, looking for all the perfect spots that would bring out their personalities.

Brittany and Walker are so easy-going! We knew right away that they were the perfect clients for us. We all got along from the moment we met, so we knew their engagement session would be a breeze. They love anything from taking their dogs for a walk along the gravel paths of Shelby Farms, to a simple barbecue at home, to dancing in the rain (as you will soon see). We wanted to make sure to capture the essence of who they are.

They met in college, and it was almost love at first sight. Bobby knew they were being set up by mutual friends, and that the first few dates were a test, but Ellen had no clue. She was simply her charming, adorable self. But even having no prior knowledge, Ellen passed all the tests with flying colors. It didn't take long for Bobby to know that she was the one he wanted to spend forever with.
