the little moments.

I walked into the living room last night at approximately 10:45 p.m. Ed jumped up from the sofa and announced that now was the best time to see the space station in the sky. Um. Huh? I don’t know how he knows these things, but I’m glad he does. We walked out onto our back deck and searched the sky. Sure enough, a few seconds later, we saw the tiny speck racing across the sky. We quickly called the kids, and we all stood in the backyard staring up at the sky in wonder for the 2.5 minutes that it took the space station to pass across our slice of sky.

After a quick question and answer session about space stations, we all went back inside feeling a little richer for having experienced a touch of science together.

Or at least I thought so.

I didn’t have time to properly set up my camera to be able to grab a photo of it (it was probably too small anyway), but I did snap a photo of the night sky, since the moon was pretty spectacular. It’s the little moments like this that I love so much. Sure, big moments are important. But so are the little ones.

Here’s to the little moments. And jumping up and racing to catch them. And husbands who know they’re coming. Cheers!
