01 May don’t take the little things for granted.
Such as knees, and walking…
I try to keep in shape. I want to stay active. But, I need my knees to do so…
Yes, I’ve gone and done it, again actually. Popped my left knee out causing extreme pain and rupturing a ligament. I say “again” because I did the same thing to my right knee about 8 years ago. Knee problems, from the guy who was the fastest sprinter in my school and who loves to run. I refuse to say, “this is what happens when you get older”, or “you’re just not that young anymore”. I refuse to accept defeat, and I will run again! 🙂
So, I’m back to wearing a brace and going to physical therapy. Taking the long road to recovery because, for some reason, knees refuse to heal quickly. I notice that I’m using the work “refuse” a lot. Wonder what that means?
Anyway, this is the beautiful brace I get wear, a lot….
And, no, those aren’t my legs 😉
I know I will recover, and hopefully be able to run again, but it sure is a strange way to remind me not to take the little things for granted.
On a more serious note, be sure to open you eyes, and your mind, to the things around you. Be thankful for what you have and count your blessings, because one day those little things might be gone. And when life forces you to relax, enjoy it!
