19 Jan Winter Country Engagement in the Woods
He is her sister’s husband’s best friend, and though they had known each other for awhile, it didn’t long for them to know it was right once they finally started dating. They do, however differ on their opinion of their first date. She watches him with adoring eyes as he tells their first date story, while shyly looking down and shaking her head with a smile. If you ask Wendy, she will tell you it was at Baskin Robbins, over ice cream and good conversation. But David argues that it’s not a real date unless you get dressed up and go to a nice place. And that’s the thing about David. He knows how to treat a lady, and he loves to spoil Wendy!
And he knows food! David is Italian, and food is in his blood. So much so, that it played a big part of his proposal plan. When he knew the time was right, he started gathering ideas and texting with his friends. Wendy caught a glimpse of one of those texts, so the big surprise was almost spoiled. But to fool her, David took her out every weekend that month. A different restaurant every time. And as she sat on the edge of her seat, each time thinking, “this is it!,” David kept the ring tucked away for the perfect moment.
After a month’s worth of dinners out, they decided to stay in. David is a talented cook, and he whipped up an Italian dinner worthy of any of the restaurants they had visited in the last month, with the added benefit of having a sky full of stars as their view. They ate on the back porch, relaxed, full, and just enjoying the night sky and each other’s company. When David served dessert – his homemade tiramisu – he served it with a side of bling!
They are planning a winter wedding in March, and we are so excited to start off 2016 with their wedding! Wendy is the daughter of a good friend of ours, and we are beyond thrilled to be the ones documenting their day. It may still be cold in March, but David and Wendy have warm smiles and kind hearts, and I know it will be amazing! And beautiful. If it’s even half as good as their engagement session, it will be perfect. Wendy and David are country folks at heart, and wanted a cozy, woodsy engagement session with the few remaining leaves on the trees. Wendy was hoping for color, and I’m happy to say we accomplished that mission! We hope you love the photos as much as we do!
The light was amazing when we went exploring together! There were a few winter seeds floating through the air, and I joked that we were in our very own fairy garden. I may have an overactive imagination, but really – what better than fairies for an enchanted engagement session??
Wendy’s beautiful rose gold ring is gorgeous!
It was a bit chilly this day, so it was perfect for snuggling under a warm blanket.
David really knows how to make Wendy laugh, and her whole face lights up when she does!
The trees looked gorgeous as they were kissed by the golden light of the sunset. So Wendy and David kissed too 🙂
Wendy, you are a true beauty! Inside and out.
