01 Jul A Summer Natural Engagement Session in Memphis

When Ed and I got in the car to head to this engagement session, I looked at him and said, “We’re going to love this couple. It’s going to be so fun!” And I was 100% right. We are slowly beginning to shoot a few sessions, while taking precautions and keeping our social distance. After so many days in quarantine, spending time with this couple was exactly what we needed, especially since it was also Ed’s birthday!

Since Covid hit, we’ve been booking weddings over the phone or email instead of having meetings. Despite not meeting her in person, I knew I loved Sam right away. I had spoken to her on the phone a couple times, and I was drawn to her no-nonsense, friendly personality. She is so easy to talk to, and she is always upbeat and optimistic. I could see what Patrick saw in her, even though I had not yet met or spoken to him.

After their natural engagement  session, I knew that Patrick was Sam’s perfect companion. He is as fun-loving as she is, but balances her high energy with a relaxed, casual demeanor. This man was not afraid to snuggle, and I loved that about him! He turned out to be a complete pro in front of the camera. In fact, by the end of the session, they were both teaching ME new things!

Sam and Patrick wanted a natural background for their photos. When they are together, sparks fly. They enjoy each other’s company so much, and they wanted that to be the focus of their session. After being around them just for a couple hours, it was hard to believe they haven’t always been together. They are not new love; they are not giddy love. They are comfortable, mature, passionate love. They are a family. They are already in it for life. And they’re not even married yet!

Sam and Patrick, thank you for spending Ed’s birthday with us! We enjoyed every second with you two. We can’t wait for a time when we can hug you for real. In the meantime, enjoy this little peek of our time together. AIR HUGS!
