14 Nov Megan + Anthony: Promised | a Shelby Farms Engagement
Megan and Anthony were the winners of our free engagement shoot, so we were so excited to finally meet them! We had already rescheduled the shoot once because of rain, and this day was threatening to rain, too, but we decided to go ahead and give it a chance. I’m so glad we did! The skies were cloudy, but it never did rain, and I just LOVE the way Megan’s dress colors popped against the clouds toward the end of the shoot! It turned out perfectly!
Megan and Anthony are outdoorsy people. They love the South, and they love the countryside, so we thought Shelby Farms would be a perfect location for their shoot. The trees were just starting to change colors with the Fall weather, and the lake added a nice background! Shelby Farms is one of those places we could shoot in over and over and never get the same photos twice! It’s so big that there are a ton of location options. We try to change it up each time we go there, but I never get tired of it!
One thing that makes Megan and Anthony such a unique couple is that they like to bowfish together! I got so excited when Megan told me about their thoughts for their engagement shoot, because that was something we had never done before, and something that was so THEM! We definitely wanted to include this idea, so they brought their bow along. Don’t worry, no fish were harmed in the making of these photos!
Anthony is the pro, and he usually has to help Megan draw the bow back. I think his arms around her are the REAL reason she likes this sport!
After a quick change, we headed to a different area of the park. I have a thing about gravel roads. I don’t know what it is, but I love them! They are especially great for a couple who loves the country. We found the perfect little gravel path next to an open field for these photos.
One of my favorites!
Megan, you are gorgeous!! Those eyes!
Megan and Anthony, thank you so much for making the drive to hang out with us for a few hours! We loved getting to know you, and we are so glad that you two ended up being our winners!
