07 Dec Midtown Memphis Fall Engagement | Kate + Sean
These two lovebirds actually got married this past Saturday! It was a beautiful, perfect day, and we can’t wait to share those images. But in the meantime, we’re going to share the images from their midtown Memphis fall engagement session! We managed to fit in a little time for Kate and Sean’s engagement photos only a couple weeks before the wedding, on a beautiful autumn day. I absolutely love the trees in the fall! Keep reading to see the beautiful yellows and reds we captured, along with this cute couple!
Sean knew he had to propose before Kate’s big family trip, but everything kept going wrong. Her family had a “no bling, no bring” rule, and Sean really wanted to tag along. He had the ring. He had a plan. But as the night evolved, so did his plan!
There were fireworks when Kate said yes to Sean. Literally. It was the night of the Sunset Symphony. Sean’s initial thought was to lead Kate to a pretty, private spot so he could propose without a bunch of onlookers. Unfortunately, having no clue what was about to happen, Kate kept inadvertently interfering. First, they were late. Then Kate’s choice of a viewing spot was not proposal-friendly. Sean wanted to propose at sunset, but couldn’t find a spot. He finally led her away from everyone, and got to his knee. As the fireworks started lighting up the sky at that moment, Sean knew his plan had worked out perfectly!
Kate and Sean love sharing coffee and doughnuts at their favorite little midtown spot, Cafe Eclectic. We decided to start there, doing what they do naturally! Sean ordered their favorite lattes and a couple doughnuts, and we had a great time! I was lucky enough to get a bite of the blueberry one, and it was delicious!
The barista finished Kate’s latte with a heart-shaped flourish, perfect for the occasion!
Now that they were properly caffeinated, we made our way toward Overton Park to capture the fall colors in the trees.
They were pros in front of the camera!
I absolutely loved this small tree-lined courtyard. The winter pansies in the background were the perfect pop of color!
A little red to match Sean’s sweater… 😉
Who can resist falling leaves for a fall engagement session? Apparently not us!!
Kate and Sean, thank you so much for hanging out with us for a day before the wedding! We had so much fun getting to know you. Stay tuned for the wedding photos!
