10 Sep kathleen + joey: promised. a memphis lake engagement.

Kathleen and Joey knew instantly that they were meant for each other. Their first date soon led to a second, and the second soon led to forever.

When Joey decided that it was time to make Kathleen his wife, he planned a romantic proposal at their neighborhood lake. He decorated the arbor at the pier with dozens of photos of the both of them and lit candles to set the mood. Completely unaware of what was about to happen, Kathleen was confused at first at the sight of the candles when Joey led her to the pier. Although Joey was hoping for a private moment, a few people had gathered nearby, curious about the candles. Unsure whether or not they should interrupt whatever was going on at the pier, Kathleen was hesitant, then shocked when she saw all the photos of her and Joey.

She turned to him, and he dropped to one knee and asked her to be his wife. She said yes right away, and as they made their way back, all the strangers who had gathered congratulated and hugged both of them. Joey may have been hoping for a private proposal, but the well wishes that they received from complete strangers turned out to be even better!

Ed and I met Kathleen and Joey at the very lake where their romantic proposal happened. We walked the paths around the lake and got to know each other a little better.

The trails, trees, and lake made for gorgeous views, but not as gorgeous as a couple in love!

Naturally, we had to have some photos in front of their memorable arbor!
