06 May Downtown Memphis Engagement
There are so many things to love about an engagement session! But one of our very favorite things about them is that we get some one on one time with our couples, and really get to know them better on a personal level. Not only does this make us better equipped to photograph them on their wedding day, but it starts building a relationship so that we can truly call them friends later! It had been awhile since we first met with Taylor and George, so we were eager to hang out with them and learn more about how they love. We were in for such a treat!
The one thing we really came away with after our engagement session with Taylor and George is that they are ready. Ready to be married. In fact, it was one of the first things they said after exchanging pleasantries. I asked them how the wedding planning was going, and they both sighed and said, “we’re just ready for it to be here.”
They didn’t mean that they were tired of planning. They didn’t mean that they were eager for the big celebration. They didn’t even mean that the time seemed to be moving so slowly. In fact, the opposite is true! Ask any bride. The engagement flies by! No, what they meant is that they are ready for marriage. And after being around them for a couple hours and being somewhat of marriage experts ourselves, we definitely agree!
Taylor and George have been together for years. They met in college and dated through most of it. By now, they know all the quirky little details of the other’s personality, gaining the deeper understanding that only comes with commitment. They’re ready to make that commitment permanent. They’re ready to devote a lifetime to each other. They’re ready for forever.
We met Taylor and George at Mollie Fontaine’s, one of their favorite cocktail lounges. This spot was extra-appropriate because they had their engagement party here! Special thanks to Brady Boyd, who brought out Taylor’s natural beauty and made her look amazing!
I love this one so much! Taylor and George were so natural in front of the camera and made our job easy!
After a quick change, we made our way downtown toward the river. The light was especially beautiful, but not as beautiful as Taylor!
I love it when barges float past at the exact right moment 🙂
Taylor and George, thank you so much for hanging out with us for an evening! We had a blast roaming around with you two and getting to know you better. We are also ready for the wedding! We can’t wait!
