14 Jun cheryl + omar: promised. a memphis shelby farms engagement.
He likes camping, but she admits that sleeping outside just isn’t her thing. She likes cooking, especially anything French. He likes eating her cooking. She likes fashion, and most things vintage. He likes sports. One thing that Cheryl and Omar can agree on is that they are huge movie buffs! One thing they love to do is have dinner (made by Cheryl, complete with homemade macaroons), followed by a great movie.
Add in a little nature, and we had the perfect engagement shoot!
A Movie + Dinner:
Cheryl and I emailed back and forth until we had the perfect session planned. One that would represent them in a unique way. Ed and I finally met Cheryl and Omar at Shelby Farms on a beautiful day for their Memphis engagement session.
We took a few minutes for Cheryl and Omar to warm up to the camera (which didn’t take long at all!), then set up our movie portion of the shoot. Popcorn, 3-D glasses, a vintage projector (thanks, Propcellar!), and a DIY screen:
Some fun behind the curtain!
Love this angle that Ed captured:
Can’t have popcorn without throwing it at each other!
A quick change of clothes, and it was time for dinner. Or a picnic on the lake!
Cheryl and Omar’s dog, Mags, came along for the shoot, and I happened to get her in one shot! Isn’t she the cutest?
Yes, Cheryl made those macaroons!
This vintage fur stole was given to Cheryl’s grandmother from her hubby. So romantic, and so Cheryl!
Cheryl and Omar, thank you for hanging out with us for an evening at the park! I’m so glad we were able to do some photos that really represented your individuality! It was so much fun getting to know you both better, and the wedding will be even more amazing!
Here’s to movie night. In the park. And homemade macaroons. Cheers!
