There wasn't one single tear all day long. This joyful downtown Memphis Cadre wedding was reserved only for laughs, grins, and merriment. Sam and JT giggled and teased during their First Look on the Peabody rooftop, where each of them turned in a full circle for the other to see. Their bridal party was overflowing with loyal friends who made sure there was always an inside joke handy. Later, as Sam made her way down the isle toward JT, excited at the sight of his bride, gave her a playful cat-call whistle. Comfortable in each other, in their relationship, and now their new marriage, these two wanted only to celebrate!
Anne-Sophie is just as her name sounds - smart, beautiful, sophisticated, stylish, and French. At least, she comes from a French family. One of the joys of first meeting her and her mother was her mom's accent. I could have listened to her all day! Since Anne-Sophie was very busy with med school during most of her engagement, her mom was very involved in the wedding planning. Ed and I got to know her right alongside Anne-Sophie and Dalton, and we are so glad! Like Anne-Sophie, her mom is such a sweet, generous person. We loved getting to know both families during this gorgeous formal Cadre wedding!
Catherine had seen my Instagram feed, so she already knew I was a sucker for succulents. She may have had an advantage before we even first spoke, though it was an unnecessary one. Catherine did not have to charm me by mentioning her mutual love of succulents. I fell in love with her right away for so many reasons, among them her honest love of marriage and commitment, her penchant for organization, her dazzling smile, and the obvious affection she felt for her fiancé. Although, a mutual love of succulents sure didn't hurt!
Ed and I felt an immediate kinship with Heather and Brandon. They are basically a younger, cuter version of us! Heather is an ecologist, and the guys had to stop us girls from talking scienc-y things all day. On the other hand, Brandon works in the tech field, like Ed, and they could have lengthened the day with their own conversation. They have the same ideals we do and hold fast to love, marriage and family. Their courthouse wedding was simple, romantic, and the perfect representation of their relationship.
You'd think a relationship between a doctor and a lawyer would bring a lot of stress, formality, or meticulousness into life, or maybe even all three! But Claire and Andrew are the exact opposite. Though she is a doctor and he is a lawyer, they are more casual than reserved, relaxed instead of stiff, and easygoing rather than demanding. They are professional when they need to be, but they also know when to leave the stress behind and have a great time! Their University Club wedding brought out the best in them both, and they smiled and laughed their way through a beautiful, perfect day that mirrored their relationship.
Hannah wanted an English garden feel to her wedding, and I can say with complete confidence that she got it! Her and AJ's Dixon Gardens wedding was filled to the brim with flowers, sunshine, plants, and a classic, sophisticated vibe... just like an English garden! that was beautifully maintained by professionals from https://www.NorthStarTreeService.com. They could not have chosen a better date or location for their gorgeous day. Sit back and relax, ya'll, cuz this is gonna be a long one!
Ed and I are always so uplifted when we shoot weddings that are simply classic and clearly all about the marriage. This beautiful silvery blue winter wedding at the Cadre was definitely one of those! Alicia and Charles are so in love. They are a gentle, quiet couple, and to watch them together is to know that they will be making each other happy for a very long time. From their sweet First Look to the way they sought out each other for a quiet moment during their festive reception, it was obvious that they are right at home in this new family that they have built together.
I've been wanting to do a Behind the Scenes post like this for years! Finally, last year I actually got organized enough to make it happen. Ever wonder what Ed and I are really like on wedding days? I've assembled a collection from last year that will probably give you a good idea. Keep scrolling for a few laughs!
Candis and Keith have waited a long time for this day. And so have their boys. More than anything, this wedding day was about celebrating family, and there's nothing I love more than a family-centered wedding! Candis and Keith's children may be young, but they knew exactly how important this day was. An especially moving song during the ceremony made these two little boys melt into tears. They didn't care who saw them. Overwhelmed with emotion, they wiped at their eyes. Then they wrapped each other and their parents in a long hug, on the altar, finally a family. That is what this entire day was about!
Rachel knew what she wanted for her wedding, but more importantly, she knew what she didn't want. The thing I love most about her is that she is not afraid to be herself. She knows her limits, and she doesn't push them. Her style oozes out of her, and she OWNS it! She has the right mix of art appreciation and love of color, but she knows when enough is enough. She found her perfect match in Justin, who gracefully lets her be herself, but also pulls her in and holds her close when she needs more than just herself. Their wedding day was the exquisite culmination of their relationship, and it reflected their personalities, both separately and together.
