When we do Senior portraits, it's usually a parent of the Senior who contacts us. With Trista, this wasn't the case. She contacted us herself, so we were super honored to do her session. We love love love it when a Senior is invested in her own photos! Her session was right at the end of the year last year, before the last of the leaves fell from the trees. The Fall color was amazing, making the golds, greens, and even a few reds just pop! Combined with Trista's beautiful style, it made for perfect portraits!

Our 2017 wedding season has officially begun! We kicked off the year with an amazing couple. Sabrina and Gary are a classic duo, with style all in the right places (wait until you see her shoes!). My favorite thing about them is their romance. Gary can't go 5 minutes without kissing her, and Sabrina has a shy smile that she saves for only him. I think you'll notice as you scroll through these photos how easily they are themselves in front of the camera, and I love that!

Oh friends, I am so excited to share this special Senior session with you today! We are so lucky to know some really talented dancers (other than our own, of course). A few of them in our company will be graduating this year, and we will be super sad to see Lauren go! We were honored when she asked us to do her Senior photos for her, and more than happy to document this special year for her and her family. We don't break the rules often. But special circumstances call for exceptions! With this engagement session, we broke ALL the rules. 1. Only shoot right before sunset. 2. Don't shoot on holidays. 3. NEVER shoot when it rains. 4. Only shoot when the temperature is between 50 and 80 degrees. Yeah, we broke every single one of those. And you know what? I'd do it again. This special New Year's Eve engagement session turned out to be one of our favorites!

Things have kinda been slow here on the ole blog lately. Part of the reason for that is that Ed and I have been busy the last few months building the Senior side of our business! We will have more news in that department coming soon, but in the meantime, we have quite a few sessions to post! We LOVE Senior sessions! I think we get along so well with teenagers because we have so many around our own house - it just feels natural. Well, that, and we're both still so young at heart! One thing we love to do for our Seniors is create a special highlight video for them. This is such a special (and fleeting!)  time in their lives, and we know this video will be even more treasured later. Be sure to scroll all the way to the bottom to see what we mean!

We have such a fun midtown Memphis engagement shoot to share today! Ed and I are HUGE fans of wine and cheese (I could seriously enjoy it every night for dinner and not get tired of it!), so when these two told us they wanted to do a wine and cheese picnic in the park, under a canopy of beautiful Fall leaves for their engagement session, we were all in!

We had such a great time during this colorful engagement session! Fall is never a disappointing time to shoot, and the red, orange, and yellow leaves added even more color to these images. When we accidentally found a purple door that perfectly matched Liz's lavender shirt, it was the icing on the cake! We got to know these two quite well as we explored midtown together, looking for all the perfect spots that would bring out their personalities.

Ed and I love to travel for engagement sessions! We always encourage our couples to make their engagement session about their everyday lives, since the wedding day will only be one, very special day. These two have been living in New York City for a few years, so we could only capture their everyday lives by going to them! We made a long weekend out of it, spending one whole, full day with our couple! We got to see the city through their eyes, and for us, we wouldn't have wanted it any other way.

Hello 2017! I've been super bad about updating the blog with our recent shoots, but I have a good excuse! We shot SO many sessions in November! We don't have a long fall season here in the South, so we have to jump on what we do get. Here in Memphis, November really gives us the best for Fall as far as temperature and color goes, so we stayed busy the whole month. And that means we have so much to share!
